Who Can Adopt?

These qualifications are focused on providing a safe and nurturing environment for a child. Here's what you need to know:

  • Age: You must be at least 18 or 21 years old (depending on jurisdiction).

  • Background Check: A generally clean criminal record, with no history of crimes against children, domestic violence or violent offenses.

  • You don’t have to be married or own a house. There is no minimum income or employment requirement, however all of these factors are considered by the Court and need to be presented in the way that best helps you.
